So if you are thinking about it, go! But don’t waste your money on being a VIP. I hate to give this a poor review because it was a fun experience, but the customer service could have been a lot better. He finally had to go and get it from the bar himself. The only other complaint that I had was that one gentleman in our group purchased a bottle of wine before the show and they were supposed to bring it to his seat. We thoroughly enjoyed the show itself and would likely go again, but I doubt that we would ever pay for the VIP experience again. They seated us nearly last, we got some sort of “ice cream” for dessert that tasted nasty and not like Ice cream at all and we were served last despite the fact that we had paid the extra for the VIP experience. First of all, we paid for the queens Royalty VIP package expecting to be able to get seated first and it said we would receive cake for dessert. While I do realize there are different rules because of COVID, I was disappointed by a couple of things. We enjoyed coming to this Medieval times for the most part.

Suppose you have a quality 4K TV, then to seek the right 4K upscaler shall be given top priority. If you are in rush to pick your desired one, here are the best two 4K upscaling programs for your option. PART 4: How to Upscale 1080p to 4K with Best 4K Upscaler SoftwareĪs mentioned above, 4K TV and 4K upscaler are equally important. That’s to say, a real 4K Ultra HD TV plus 4K upscaler will lead to stunning 4K content playback. What a smart idea! If you have a 4K TV at home that supports 4K content playback, all problems will be easily resolved. They would blaze a new trial by upscaling 1080p to 4K with professional 4K upscaler. The best way is to check the product's official website, users’ reviews, or review sites to gain overall information. However, a high price for a so-called high-end 4K TV does not means leading picture or audio quality. They claim 4K upscaling enables 4K TV to take lower-resolution content and display it on the entire 4K screen. Meanwhile, as 4K begins to replace HD in-home theatre, manufacturers are unveiling interesting marketing jargon like UHD upscaling to engage consumers. Want Netflix download? Forget the Netflix app. In addition, the TV market has a mixture of real 4K TVs and fake ones. Besides, most such streaming sites have limits on online streaming and offline download. Nevertheless, to access 4K content, you shall go to some expense. To meet user demand, video streaming services like Netflix and Amazon have started to offer online services for 4K video content. Why Do We Need 4K Upscaling?Įveryone anticipates watching high-resolution videos. In this sense, having a 4K UHD upscaler at hand is imperative. Thus, broadly speaking, we also call it Blu-ray 4K upscaling, 4K UHD upscaling, or UHD upscaling. One thing that needs to be mentioned is that Ultra HD is not equal to 4K in video production, but that poses no threat to its popularity among household consumers.ĭoes 4K upscaling work properly? In a nutshell, 4K upscaling means upscaling 1080p to 4K, which reaches the resolution of Ultra HD Blu-ray. Hence, 4K can be affordable for most people with advanced home theatres. Normally, there are four kinds of resolution: HD (1280x720), Full HD (1920x1080), Ultra HD/4K: 3840x2160, and Ultra HD/8k: 7620x4380.ĨK TV calls for huge investments and high configuration, out of reach for ordinary consumers. For example, most people tend to upscale DVDs of low-res video to Full HD for better playback on an HD TV. Thus, low-resolution content will fill the entire TV screen. What is 4K upscaling? What is UHD upscaling? Shall I choose 1080p or 4k? When it comes to video or image, upscaling means converting low definition to a higher resolution. ![]() What is 4K Upscaling? To achieve this aim, a 1080p to 4K converter will come in handy. ![]() Thus, 4K video owns much clearer image quality compared with that of 1080p. Meanwhile, in terms of aspect ratio, 4K contains the number of pixels on a screen four times larger than that of 1080p. However, the resolution is measured by vertical pixels, so 4K resolution equals 2160 pixels. Since 3840p is close to 4000p in horizontal pixels, therefore comes the name 4K. In terms of resolution, 1080p equals 1920x1080 pixels, while 4K boasts 3840x2160 pixels. 1080p vs 4K:What's the Difference?ġ080p is known as Full High Definition (Full HD), while 4K is labeled as Ultra High Definition (UHD). The Ottoman scholar Taqi al-Din came up with an idea for a steam-powered rotary wheel, which could be used as a water wheel. Leonardo Da Vinci wrote about an idea for steam-powered cannon. It would be more than 1,500 years from Hero of Alexandria’s aeolipile to the first practical steam engine.ĭuring that time other people certainly considered what steam could do. Imagine if steam-powered factories and locomotives existed in Ancient Rome or China.Īs interesting of an idea as it might be, the fact is it didn’t happen. This may be the subject of a future episode, but it is really interesting to think about. The evidence of the aeolipile so long before the development of the steam engine has for centuries made people wonder why it took so long to develop the steam engine, and if the industrial revolution couldn’t have occurred centuries sooner. As far as we can tell, it was basically a party trick. The thing is, they didn’t really do anything with the aeolipile. So, people knew very early on that you could do stuff with steam. The Roman architect Vitruvius had mentioned an aeolipile a few decades earlier, and that was probably based on the work done by an Alexandrian Greek by the name of Ctesibius as early as 200 years before that. While Hero is often credited as the inventor the aeolipile, he probably didn’t create the first one. When heated, the steam would shoot out the nozzles, causing the entire device to rotate rapidly. It is a sphere with nozzles bent in opposite directions sticking out, with the sphere attached to an axel to allow it to spin. The first documented case of using hot steam to create mechanical motion dates back 2000 years to the first century.Īn early engineer by the name of Hero of Alexandria, who taught at the Musaeum of Alexandria, built a device that was called an aeolipile.Īn aeolipile is a pretty simple device. ![]() It is perhaps a gross simplification, but I think it captures the spirit of what a simple steam engine does. This pressure can then spin a turbine or lift a piston, which in turn can be harnessed to turn a wheel or a gear to produce mechanical work. Because of its high temperature, this gas then exerts a pressure that can be used to do work. The water then turns into steam which is a hot gas. You boil water using some sort of heat source, which was usually wood or coal in the early industrial revolution. The concept behind a steam engine is pretty simple. This is most definitely true for the steam engine. It is a common thread in many of my episodes that things we think of as being recent inventions have their origins far earlier than most people realize. Learn more about the steam engine and how it was developed, on this episode of Everything Everywhere Daily. It was an invention that has its roots over 2000 years in the past. ![]() Yet, the steam engine wasn’t developed all at once. A device that could convert heat to mechanical work. Steam locomotives and railroad systems were created in England, but by 1830, inventor and industrialist Peter Cooper had designed the first American-built steam locomotive, called the Tom Thumb. The steam engine also transformed the railroad industry. In the 1840s and 1850s, steamboats also helped facilitate settlement on the West Coast, including California and Oregon. Steamboat routes emerged along major rivers, across the Great Lakes, in the Caribbean, and on transatlantic routes between the US and Europe. Following Robert Fulton’s successful demonstration of his steamboat, the Clermont, on the Hudson River in 1807, steamboats quickly became one of the most popular means of trade and travel in America. By the late 1780s, European inventors were experimenting with steam-powered boats and American engineers followed suit. The first steam engines were invented in the early 1700s in England and improved during the mid-eighteenth century. They revolutionized transportation and industry in the nineteenth century. Steam engines harness the pressure of hot steam to create mechanical power. I largely use it like it works like that because it's such an ammo hog, and it's still an excellent gun. While it may not be the straw that breaks the camel’s back, only the release of Overwatch 2 could potentially rectify all the missteps by Blizzard thus far.Shocked they didn't just do that. The final nail in the coffin was when Overwatch lead director, Jeff Kaplan, announced his departure from Blizzard. Just look at the whole Hong Kong controversy and the recent Diablo Immortal mishap. Overall, this entire Overwatch debacle is right up Blizzard’s alley, as their other fanbases have also had this push-and-pull, love-hate relationship with them. While Overwatch’s loot box system is one of its most egregious sins as a paid experience, it could have easily mitigated this by becoming a free-to-play game. The game’s implementation of a loot box system also makes more sense, since players don’t have to spend a single dime to access it. The biggest barrier of entry to Overwatch and its upcoming sequel is that they are both paid experiences, which won’t be an easy sell when gamers today are spoiled for choice when it comes to free-to-play games.Ī young gamer getting a brand new PlayStation or gaming PC does not need to buy a single game to have a good time, especially with quality titles like Genshin Impact, Dauntless, and of course, Apex Legends, being available for free on all platforms.īeing a free-to-play experience affords Apex Legends with the opportunity to have a much larger audience. Characters are not limited to any choice of weapons or gear, and while abilities and ultimates are useful in keeping one’s team ahead of the pack, survivability is still not guaranteed no matter what loadout you and your team have equipped. It has gotten to a point where Overwatch’s most famous personalities, namely their dedicated Twitch streamers and pro players, have been steadily jumping ship to the world of Apex Legends.Īpex Legends keeps things simple by featuring multiple squads of three. Overwatch 2’s potential fix to this issue seems to be changing the squad size of each game from six players to five, which has also opened another can of worms. Until today, there is still no proper fix to this issue, which was further exacerbated by the aforementioned role queue debacle. This prevailing meta game ruined Overwatch for many players, both casual and professional. While Overwatch allows for more players to play in a squad together, after a certain amount of time, it was clear that each game could be won through a set arrangement of characters. Players were not allowed to freely choose which character they could play and had to queue as specific roles when searching for a game. This rigidness was made even more apparent when Blizzard decided to make role queue mandatory. For example, while Apex is able to add vehicles to its gameplay, the same mechanic would break Overwatch. Overwatch, on the other hand, due to its nature as a multiplayer objective-based first-person shooter, is not flexible enough to feature an ever changing map or even weapon and mechanical additions. ![]() On top of that, checks and balances between the different weapons and character abilities keep things interesting as well. This allowed the developers to add a ton of environmental storytelling with each new season, as well as rotate between three huge maps that are very different from each other. ![]() Being a battle royale, the maps are huge and sprawling but are also susceptible to all kinds of landscape changes. One great thing about Apex Legends is that the world and gameplay elements are ever-changing. So what happened to Overwatch? What caused its fall from grace, and why is Apex Legend doing so much better? Let’s dissect that. According to ActivePlayer.io, the number of concurrent players who play Apex Legends grew to over 116 million last month, while Overwatch garnered a little over seven million players during the same period. ![]() He is also very interested and knowledgeable in nutrition, as well as rehabilitation, for both athletic and general populations.
